‘Geek the Library’ is a community-based public awareness campaign designed to highlight the vital role of public libraries in today’s challenging environment and raise awareness about the critical funding issues public libraries face. The campaign is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Whatever you are passionate about--whatever you geek--public libraries are there to inspire and empower. Everyone is welcome. Almost anything can be explored. And they play an important role for individuals and for communities.

Live Oak Public Libraries Joins United We Serve
Live Oak Public Libraries is taking part in United We Serve, a national effort launched by President Obama to engage more Americans in serving their communities this summer. The initiative focuses on four key areas: education, health, energy and the environment; and community renewal. It is being led by the Corporation for National and Community Service, a federal agency that improves lives and strengthens communities though volunteering and service.

Georgia State Park Passes Now Available
Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites are making it easier than ever for patrons to “Get Out. Get Dirty. Get Fit.” in the state’s great outdoors. Live Oak Public Libraries customers with valid Power Cards can now borrow a Georgia State Park “ParkPass” and Historic Site pass. The passes are good for free parking or admission at any of the 63 parks and historic sites statewide.
