Live Oak Public Libraries is pleased to announce the winners of the 2012 Savannah Children’s Book Festival Young Writers Contest. There were 710 submissions in this ninth year of the annual writing competition. Entrants range in age from students in kindergarten to college, and attend public, private and home schools. What's In Your Backpack? Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, 9:30 a.m. Southwest Chatham Library, FREE These everyday practices share one thing in common: no matter what the context, content is the focus. In this workshop, content = pop culture; how it motivates teachers has implications for their students. Participants will engage in practical activities that promise to unpack and repack their thinking about pop culture in the classroom.
