Alan Katz is the author of many seriously silly books for children, including the bestselling Take Me Out of the Bathtub and Other Silly Dilly Songs, illustrated by David Catrow.

Before that, he delivered newspapers, worked in his dad's children's shoe store, and written for television. In fact, he's "majored in silliness" for more than 30 years. He's written for Emmy-nominated TV shows, animated series like Taz-Mania, Disney’s Raw Toonage and Goof Troop, several editions of the Grammy Awards and Tony Awards, Kids Are People Too, a slew of Nickelodeon projects including Whoopi’s Littleburg, network specials, game shows, articles for publications including the New York Times and the New York Daily News. He's created hundreds of comic books, trading cards, web videos, and other special projects for kids and their parents.

Alan lives in Fairfield County, Connecticut, with his journalist wife, Rose, and their four children.
