Mike Thaler has produced many well known and loved characters in children's literature. While today’s parents might fondly remember “Letterman,” the character he created for the PBS “Electric Company” series, today’s children are fans for different reasons. He is the author of the “Black Lagoon” book series (20 books including “The Librarian from the Black Lagoon,” “The Teacher from the Black Lagoon,” “The Cafeteria Lady from the Black Lagoon,” “The Class Pet from the Black Lagoon,” and “The Bully from the Black Lagoon”). Bubba and Bumpo from the “The Bully Brothers” books and some of his retold fairy tales like “Cinderella Bigfoot” have won numerous “Children’s Choice” awards. Mike lives near Portland, Oregon, on a Christmas tree farm, with his family.
