Library Systems Administrator
Full time/ 40 hrs. wk
$49,088 - $70,096

Full-time systems administrator to oversee an integrated library system (ILS). The ILS tracks purchases, inventories and circulation of library materials. It also provides a web-based public interface for library customers for searching the collection and providing online services. Serves as liaison to the ILS vendor and consults with library managers on related issues. Reports to Assistant Director of Technology and Technical Services.
Knowledge of and experience with the following highly desired:
-SirsiDynix Symphony or other integrated library system
-UNIX operating system
-Perl programming in a UNIX environment
-Web programming (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
-SQL DBMSs such as Oracle
-Experience working in a library or performing library research
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities for this job will be considered.

Forest City – 15 hrs/wk
Pooler - 15 hrs/wk
$7.40 per hour

Under general supervision of a supervisor, shelves library materials in all formats; sorts materials in proper order; maintains shelf appearance by straightening and shifting of materials; responsible for delivering quality customer service; helps customers with basic directional requests; may perform a variety of clerical tasks; may perform other duties assigned by a supervisor. Work is reviewed by immediate observation, by checking completed work, by periodic spot checks or cross checking by a supervisor. Must be able to work rotating days and alternating weekend shifts.
