Catalog/Children's Collections Librarian
Technical Services, Full-time
$23.60 - $33.70

Oversees cataloging, processing and interlibrary loan functions of the Technical Services department and selects materials for the children’s and teen’s collections. The work is performed under the supervision and direction of the Assistant Director/Technical Services. Considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative.

Master’s degree in library science from an ALA accredited institution and at least two years of professional experience in library cataloging and classification in a large library is required. Must be licensed by Georgia within sixty days of employment. Experience in interlibrary loan management strongly preferred.

Under general supervision of a supervisor, shelves library materials in all formats; sorts materials in proper order; maintains shelf appearance by straightening and shifting of materials; responsible for delivering quality customer service; helps customers with basic directional requests; may perform a variety of clerical tasks; may perform other duties assigned by a supervisor. Work is reviewed by immediate observation, by checking completed work, by periodic spot checks or cross checking by a supervisor. Must be able to work rotating days and alternating weekend shifts.

Under general supervision of a supervisor, shelves library materials in all formats; sorts materials in proper order; maintains shelf appearance by straightening and shifting of materials; responsible for delivering quality customer service; helps customers with basic directional requests; may perform a variety of clerical tasks; may perform other duties assigned by a supervisor. Work is reviewed by immediate observation, by checking completed work, by periodic spot checks or cross checking by a supervisor. Must be able to work Tuesday 10-5, and Wednesday through Friday 3-6 p.m.
