Library for the Blind & Physically Handicapped

The Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped offers the Talking Book service which provides recorded books and magazines and the necessary playback equipment free of charge to eligible individuals. Individuals who are unable to use printed materials due to a visual or physical impairment are eligible for this free service. The impairment may be temporary or permanent. The Savannah Library for the Blind serves the following counties in Southeast Georgia: Chatham, Effingham, Liberty, Bryan, Bulloch, Candler, Emanuel, Evans, Jenkins, Screven.

An application form is required to begin service. Applications are available at all Live Oak Public Libraries branches or download here.

The Library for the Blind & Physically Handicapped is located at the Southwest Chatham Branch. You may contact the library by calling 912-925-7774 or toll-free 1-800-342-4455, fax: 912-925-8310 or email: lbphsav@liveoakpl.org. Hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. - 6:00p.m. Tuesday - Friday.

LBPH Catalog: Online public access to the LBPH catalog is now available. A customer’s account can be accessed and books requested online with a User ID and Password. This can be obtained from the Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped. A user ID and password are not needed to search the catalog.
