Summer Reading Program
Summer Reading Program Kickoff Party
Superheroes, assemble! Are you prepared to battle your nemesis? The library can help! Make some vital costume accessories (but no capes!), hone your skills and spidey senses, meet some of our local heroes, and register for Live Oak Public Libraries' Summer Reading Program at our annual drop-in party. Come in costume or as your mild-mannered alter ego. All Ages.
Story Ship of Heroes
With a wonderful array of magic, music, animation and puppetry, Sean Driscoll draws the audience into live interactive comedy theater and innovative children's storytelling. Ages 5 and up.
Ronald McDonald will get children excited about reading this summer by showcasing some of the books children can check out at the library. He'll also do a magic trick or two and create a whole lot of fun. Ages 3 and up.
Super Balloon Fun
Lynnae Weller, the Savannah Balloon Lady, uses her storytelling skills and balloon sculptures to weave another literary masterpiece drawing inspiration from book characters such as Aladdin, Harry Potter, and Robin Hood, and even some Star Wars characters! Ages 3 and up.
Storyteller J'miah Nabawi
Storyteller J'miah Nabawi will lead audiences through spontaneous and interactive superhero storytelling ensembles. Superhero Supreme! Be prepared for lots of fun and participation! You might be asked to play a rhythm instrument or be a particular character. Ages 5 and up.
Hercules and the Heroes
Follow Greece's greatest hero, Hercules, on his many adventures as he battles mythological creatures and warriors. Through mask work, poetry and swordplay, the Hampstead Stage Company will guide the audience on a tour of the early stories of Greece. Ages 5 and up.
The Magic Man
The Magic Man (a.k.a. Bill Packard) provides a fun and memorable show featuring his award winning magic routines, music, comedy and audience participation. Ages 5 and up.
Super Skeeter Puppet Show
Oh, no! All the storybook characters are in disarray. But fear not! For whatever the trouble, whether real or imagined, Super Skeeter is here to save the day! Disclaimer: Curious Moon Puppets is not responsible if Skeeter makes things worse. Evy Wright of Curious Moon Puppets presents Super Skeeter followed by a sneak peek behind the curtains to see how a puppet show is staged. Ages 3-10.
Super Magic Show
Chad Crews, the Magical Educator, has a super reading extravaganza featuring a live snake, magic tricks, music, and stories of heroes. Chad learned most of the tricks he showcases from reading books and he encourages others to follow their dreams through reading. Ages 5 and up
Movie: Big Hero 6
Come see a heart-warming, creative tale about the special bond that develops between plus-sized inflatable robot Baymax, and prodigy Hiro Hamada, who team up with a group of friends to form a band of high-tech heroes. Various locations. All ages.

Super Summer Reading programs for the animal lovers! Learn about "The Bravest Dog Ever", mind-blowing animal super powers, observe Hunter Army Air Force Military dogs demonstrate their skills, and more! Consolidated listing.
Think you're a master LEGO® builder? Join our LEGO® Club to hone your skills. Our monthly meetings will include a themed LEGO® build where you can create your own masterpieces! You may even find you work on display in the library. Ages 5 and up.
