Islamic Art: Mirror of the Invisible World


Film Screening and Discussion led by Dr. Deborah Jamieson

Narrated by Susan Sarandon, this 90-minute documentary, "Islamic Art: Mirror of the Invisible World," transports viewers over nine countries and across 1,400 years of cultural history to reveal the astonishing riches of Muslim arts, crafts and architecture. Leading the follow-up discussion is Dr. Deborah Jamieson, Associate Professor of Art History at Armstrong Atlantic State University. Dr. Jamieson received the 2008 Chancellor's Award and was selected to participate in a Faculty Development Seminar abroad to Morocco and Spain where she studied the rich artistic heritage of Islamic culture.
