The Live Oak Public Libraries Foundation invites you to travel the world and beyond with us as we present our 9th Annual Once Upon a Time Gala.
Thursday evening, January 15, 2009, at 6pm

Explore the farthest reaches of the universe or just uncover the treasures in your own backyard as we showcase the library’s collection. Journey around the world with the library Power Card, your passport to great discoveries every day.

Our itinerary for the evening:

6 pm | cocktails and hors d’oeuvres
Begin the evening’s excursion by touring the iconic Bull Street Library. Wind your way through the treasures offered in the silent auction and make your early bids.

7 to 8:30 pm | buffet dinner in the stacks
Continue your adventure with catered dinner in the stacks. Enjoy a varied selection of international foods sure to tempt your palate. Continue to roam the silent auction to ensure the success of your bids.

8:45 pm | live auction
Having cruised the dessert selections and secured your lucky live auction bid number, proceed to select your seat for the live auction.

At the conclusion of the live auction, our sojourn draws to a close with the auction checkout downstairs.

Take a boat, take a train, take a car, take a plane, but don’t miss this year’s safari in the stacks! Delve, dig, inquire, investigate, and scout – it’s your special night to turn the library’s collections inside out. It’s all here if you know just where to look. Our librarians (those indispensable information tour guides) will help you find just the right book.
Your ticket for the evening includes global musical selections and complimentary valet parking at the door. Individual reservations are $125 per person. Sponsorships and patron reservations are available. Cocktail or business attire is suggested – or wear an authentic international costume if you wish.
