Gale Biography in Context combines over 432,000 biographies on more than 340,000 people from over 980 volumes of more than 135 respected Gale sources such as Contemporary Authors, Encyclopedia of World Biography, and Marquis Who's Who, with over 538,000 full-text articles from nearly 300 magazines.
E-Books for Research
Remember all those big reference books the library wouldn't let you check out? Many are now available for viewing online or downloading to your e-reader! There are also nonfiction e-books in areas such as biography, business, computers, literature, medicine and science.
EBSCO Ebooks Online is a collection of e-books on many research topics. GALILEO password required for at home/office usage.
Gale Directory Library offers you an online collection of premier directories such as the Encyclopedia of Associations and Gale Directory of Publications and Broadcast Media.
Gale Reference Library has e-book versions of standard reference books such as Gale Encyclopedia of Science and American Men and Women of Science.
Oxford Reference Online contains dictionary, language reference, and subject reference works published by Oxford University Press.
Salem Press History (remote access) is a robust online database that includes the complete content of printed reference sets. Great for history research!
GALILEO
GALILEO stands for GeorgiA LIbrary LEarning Online, an initiative of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. GALILEO provides access to over 100 databases indexing thousands of periodicals and scholarly journals. Over 2000 journal titles are provided in full-text. Other resources include encyclopedias, business directories, and government publications. Get the password for off-site access.

History Resources
History Reference Center is the world's most comprehensive full text history reference database designed for secondary schools, public libraries, junior/community colleges and undergraduate research. The database features full text for more than 1,990 reference books, encyclopedias and non-fiction books from leading history publishers.
New York Times Archives
New York Times Archives Allows you to search and retrieve for free articles from the NY times back to 1851. Note: years 1923-1986 require a document delivery fee.
