Computer Services

Computers are available for public use in all of our branches.

The computers have:
High-speed internet access with the following browsers: IE, Firefox, and Chrome.
Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access.
Most major viewers and players (Adobe, RealPlayer, Flash).

Printing is available for $.10 a page for black & white and $.50 a page for color printouts. Most branches require the use of a print card or Power Card to pay for printing. Print cards are available to those who do not want a Power Card and are available at circulation desks or from vending machines at larger branches. Cost for print cards is $1.00 and the card comes with $.50 value. Customers can add value to their print cards or Power Cards at circulation desks or vending machines (vending machines only take bills).

PC Reservation is used at larger branches to allocate computer access. Customers can reserve computers on a first-come, first-served basis and are given a PIN and receipt to access a specific computer at a specific time. Smaller branches typically use a manual sign-up system. Some branches may allocate computer time based on use (e-mail, research). Some branches may give preference to homework/research work over recreational use.

Please read our Computer and Internet Usage Policy.

Classes on computer basics, Microsoft Office products and internet research are offered at some branches.

Some branches offer adaptive technology for hard of hearing or visually impaired customers.
